Preview: Pirate & Corsair Ranking Regatta
Pirates and corsairs take to the regatta course together on Saturday.
A manageable field of eleven pirates has chosen the team Warnemünder Woche announced. Among them is the Frieder Billerbeck/Julius Raithel crew from the Wedel-Schulau sailing club, who have just won the International German Pirate Championship on Lake Dümmer. The 2019 European champions are probably the most promising candidates for victory before Warnemünde. Seven races are scheduled to take place by Monday.
Together with the pirates, the corsairs go on the Charlie train. Twelve crews of the two-man dinghy have announced their participation, including the Warnemünder Week runners-up from 2019, Thomas Habath and Sabine Köhler. A total of ten races are planned for the corsairs until Tuesday.
