BEACH RUGBY TOURNAMENT

Since 2019, Warnemünde has been a summer magnet for rugby players from all over Germany. At the only beach rugby tournament on Germany's Baltic Sea coast, 12 men's and six women's teams thrill spectators with their powerful physical effort in the battle for the ball. This makes the Warnemünde Beach Arena a real draw on the second weekend of WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE.

The fight for the crown in German beach rugby

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the battle for the German beach rugby crown is expected to resume on Warnemünde Beach. In addition to sailing, the Warnemünde Beach Arena will host another sporting highlight on the final weekend of the 88th WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE. In cooperation with the Rostock & Warnemünde Tourism Office, the only beach rugby tournament on a German Baltic Sea beach has been taking place since 2019.

Men's and women's teams will scour the fine sandy beach below the lighthouse and the "Teepott" in search of the "Rugby Egg" and will thrill the spectators in the large stands with hard-hitting tackles and fast-paced moves.

The team at the "Wal-Strandbar" right next to the Warnemünde Beach Arena will provide the catering. A varied program of events is also available along the promenade, making a visit to WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE definitely worthwhile.
