The Beach Handball Days are a popular classic tournament on the beach in Warnemünde. Twenty-four men's and women's teams from all over Germany come to the Baltic Sea beach and play in prime view of the spectators. In short, hard-fought matches in the preliminary and intermediate rounds, the finalists are determined for the grand finale on the first Sunday of WARNEMÜNDER WEEK.
The popular classic tournament on the beach in Warnemünde
The tournament traditionally takes place on the opening weekend. The preliminary rounds and round of 16 are scheduled for Saturday, the quarterfinals and semifinals for Sunday, and the finals in the afternoon.
Around 600 handball players are competing for victory on the beach below the promenade. Each team consists of eight members, with four on the 27 by 12 meter court at any one time. Matches last ten minutes. After the preliminary and intermediate rounds, the finals on Sunday will provide plenty of excitement.
