Around Bornholm Final result: “Blue Bird” wins in ORC

Clemens Thamm won the ORC overall ranking of the long-distance regatta Rund Bornholm with the “Blue Bird” based on calculated time. The three-person crew from Rostock needed a total of 2 days, 5 minutes and 42 minutes to sail around 270 nautical miles with their modified Hiddensee quarter-tonner. The Dehler 30od “Play Time” by Thomas Jünemann came in second place according to the calculated time.

According to the time sailed, the fastest ship in the ORC ranking was the Rainbow 42 “Uijuijui 4” from Friedrich Hausmann (Berlin) with a time of 1 day, 16 hours and 23 minutes, which resulted in fourth place according to the calculated time. A total of eight seagoing boats started in the ORC group. Robert Jatkowski's First 38 SD "Madame" broke the mast around 23 p.m. on the night of Monday to Tuesday and had to give up. For the owner and skipper it was already the ninth participation in Rund Bornholm. He has already announced that he will soon take part in Rund Bornholm again after repairing the damage to his yacht.

In the Yardstick group with 13 starters, Uta Ihlenburg from the Mecklenburg Yacht Club Rostock won. The Rostock team thus completed the long distance according to the calculated time ahead of the two Volvo Open 60 “SEB-OSPA” (2nd place) and “Illbruck-Glashäger” (3rd place).

In the charter classification of the Yardstick group, Stefan Neudeck won with a Dehler Varianta 37 ahead of Carsten Siekmann

“SEB-OSPA” was the fastest ship on this year’s Bornholm circuit with a sailed time of 1 day, 7 hours and 55 minutes. A best time was never expected. The currently valid distance record for the 270 nautical miles is 24 hours, 54 minutes and 23 seconds, set by “SEB-OSPA” in 2019.
