Hand in hand with partners and sponsors to success

Only thanks to the help of the many volunteers and partnerships with companies and institutions can this Warnemünder Woche succeed.

An event like that Warnemünder Woche lives from the commitment of many people involved. On the one hand, there are around 300 volunteers who take on the countless tasks on the water and on land. Without them nothing would work, which is also particularly appreciated by Warnemünder Week patron Stefanie Drese, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Sport, and Rostock's Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger. Stefanie Drese says: “The Warnemünder Woche is the most important and largest sailing event in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and combines sport and culture, as well as land and water, in a very special way. My heartfelt thanks go to the many volunteers who organize a really great event!” Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger agrees and says: “I would like to express my thanks for this gigantic commitment!”

But in addition to volunteering, further support is needed to organize a sailing and festival event like this Warnemünder Woche to enable: partnerships with companies and institutions, some of which have existed for many years, and which provide material and financial support.

“We work hand in hand with the many partners to achieve this Warnemünder Woche to make it a success. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their support, no matter how great their commitment. This is not a given and helps us enormously. “It is only through these partnerships that we can continually develop the event,” says Ralf Bergel, honorary chairman of the event Warnemünder Woche.

One of these loyal partners is the WIRO, Rostock's large housing company. Ralf Zimlich, chairman of the WIRO management board, says: “In order for one of Germany’s major sailing events to continue to be an experience for locals and guests in 2023, we need a lot of helpers, partners and sponsors. Because without support the major event would not exist. WIRO is also happy to join in: as a long-standing sponsor and premium partner.” WIRO not only provides space on the Warnemünde middle pier, it has also been involved in the content of the event for a long time. On July 5th, WIRO invites you to a sports day between 14 p.m. and 19 p.m. on the lighthouse forecourt, where many Rostock sports clubs will present themselves. The housing company also shows a free cinema film on three evenings at 20 p.m. - directly by the sea and under the open evening sky. “Triangle of Sadness” will be shown on July 7th, “Top Gun: Maverick” on July 8th and “A Man Called Otto” on July 9th. On Saturday at 17.30:500 p.m. there will be the special screening “A Litter for Eternity” – a film by the Rostock Seawolves. In total, viewers can enjoy their favorite film from 16 seats on a XNUMX square meter LED screen.

Also with the Warnemünder Week mobility partner Audi Center Rostock there is a far-reaching partnership. The car dealership from Rostock's southern city is the official partner of the event for the seventh time and ensures that organizers, athletes and guests get to their appointments on time and safely. “We didn’t have to think twice when the request came. The Warnemünder Woche is an important event that is attended by many visitors from home and abroad,” says Klaus-Jürgen Strupp, managing partner at the Audi Center Rostock. “In addition, Audi and especially we at the Audi Center Rostock have a special relationship with sailing, which has been demonstrated for years in many regattas around the world, but also here in the region.”

What the Warnemünder Woche heard, like the lighthouse or the Alte Strom, is of course that Rostock Pils the Hanseatic Brewery Rostock. “As a long-standing partner of one of the most traditional and largest sailing events in Germany, we are on board with a lot of passion and new ideas,” says Wilfried Ott, Managing Director of the Hanseatic Brewery in Rostock. "The Warnemünder Woche attracts sailors of various boat classes from many countries to Warnemünde. The city’s beer is a must.” Four types are available at the Rostock fan shop on the promenade, which is open daily. The water sports fair Boat & Fun is also one of the most loyal partners Warnemünder Woche and supports the event in many ways. The Marine is one of the oldest partners in the Warnemünder Woche.
