“Smoke on the Water XXII” once again lived up to its reputation as a cult music festival.
The mix of live music, literature, and rock history once again struck a chord with the audience: Fans of the "Smoke on the Water – The Open-Air by the Sea" music festival traveled from near and far again this year to enjoy around six hours of rock music in a relaxed atmosphere in the Kurhaus garden. The packed Kurhaus garden once again demonstrated that the open-air festival is clearly one of the biggest crowd-pullers of the region. Warnemünder Woche.
The “Smoke on the Water” festival attracted numerous music fans to the Kurhaus garden for the 22nd time and, by including anecdotes from the novel and CD edition of the same name by Warnemünde writer Michael Terpitz, recalled the feeling of life of the beat and rock generation in Mecklenburg.
Three concerts featuring musicians from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern spread a festival atmosphere for around six hours in the Kurhaus garden under a bright blue sky. The performances by "Olaf Hobrlant & Friends feat. Shantychor Luv & Lee", "Ola Van Sander & Friends" and the popular band Bad Penny delighted the numerous fans in attendance.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the 22nd edition of our music festival – a complete success! It was packed the whole time, and the atmosphere was once again very relaxed with a touch of Woodstock feeling. The ‘guys’ all played brilliantly again, and we even had several guests who traveled a long way especially for the evening,” says festival organizer Andreas Buhse from the Coaast record café in Warnemünde.
