Sport, music and tradition
“WIRO sports day meets shanties” is the motto in the Kurhausgarten on Saturday. From 11 a.m. to 18 p.m., the program includes performances by the shanty choirs “SingManTau”, “De Klaashahns”, “Luv und Lee” and the “Breitlings” as well as presentations by various sports clubs. As a municipal landlord, WIRO supports numerous local clubs in addition to sailing. Some of them will introduce themselves on the stage in the Kurhausgarten at the WIRO Sports Day and invite you to join in and try out sports. Also taking part are the basketball players from the EBC Seawolves, the inline hockey team from the Coatis and the handball players from HC Empors. “We are again looking forward to many guests at the WIRO Sports Day in the Kurhausgarten. Our club partners introduce themselves on stage – and everyone can listen, take part and try things out. It is guaranteed to be entertaining because WIRO supports more than 20 sports clubs,” announces Ralf Zimlich, chairman of the WIRO management board.
The stage program in the Kurhausgarten starts on Sunday under the motto “WIRO sports day meets traditional costume groups” with the march of the traditional costume groups and the opening of the traditional costume meeting with music by Clan MacLanborough Pipes & Drums. A colorful entertainment program with music and dance performances by traditional costume groups is planned from 12 p.m. to 14 p.m. From 14 p.m., presentations from the sports clubs alternate with musical performances.
