Big crowds on the opening weekend
The first weekend of the 85th Warnemünder Woche offered a varied program on land with the 20th “Niege Ümgang” parade, music and dance performances on the Kurhausgarten stage, the festive church concert and sporting action on the sand at the 27th Beach Handball Days. The weather was a potpourri of sun, storm and rain, but the visitors didn't let that stop them.

All events were well attended; at the Niege Ümgang, thousands of spectators lined the streets and cheered on the actors as they passed by. Even on yesterday's stormy and rainy day, the concerts in the Kurhausgarten were well attended. In the afternoon the area looked as if a drop of rain had never fallen. All seats and also the lawns were occupied by visitors. An absolutely feel-good program awaits the audience in the Kurhausgarten today: from 16 p.m. to 22 p.m., catchy hits from “Danny Buller and Kay Petersen” and the “Stressedout Partyband” will be played on the so-called “Schlagertag”.
