It's going to be rocking: 22nd "Smoke on the Water" music festival in the Kurhaus garden
Tomorrow, live music, literature and rock history will once again come together: The cult open-air festival "Smoke on the Water" will transform the Kurhaus garden into a meeting place for rock music fans again this year.
The record label COAAST TMP and the Rostock & Warnemünde Tourist Board invite you to "Smoke on the Water XXII" on July 9, 2026, from 4 pm to 9:45 pm." into the Warnemünde spa garden.
For more than two decades, the event has combined live music with literature, evoking the spirit of the beat and rock generation in Mecklenburg. It takes its name from the novel and CD edition of the same name by Warnemünde author Michael Terpitz. In his books, he tells stories with heart, humor, and authentic anecdotes about a momentous era in which music shaped and accompanied generations.
This year, well-known musicians from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will once again take to the stage. They will present songs from current novel soundtracks as well as other titles from the series. "Smoke on the Water" EditionMichael Terpitz acts as moderator, guiding the audience through the program and complementing the musical contributions with stories, background information and personal anecdotes about his books and the songs presented.
Three concerts will spread festival atmosphere for around six hours at the cult music festival "Open-Air am Meer" (Open-Air by the Sea). "Rauch auf dem Wasser XXII" (Smoke on the Water XXII) begins at 4 p.m. with the opening and a reading by Michael Terpitz. This is followed by a performance from "Olaf Hobrlant & Friends feat. Shantychor Luv & Lee" until 6 p.m. After another reading, the concert "Ola Van Sander & Friends" starts at 6:45 p.m., before Bad Penny provides the musical finale at 7:30 p.m. "Rauch auf dem Wasser" promises another unforgettable evening in 2026 with rock sounds, festival vibes, and summer feeling.
