Preview of sailing Saturday
Three classes start on the first Saturday Warnemünder Woche a new start. The 505s are starting their German championship, the H-boats are starting a ranking regatta and the big ships are sailing a medium-distance regatta with the Mecklenburg Baths Regatta.

505 International German Championship
With the opening day of the 83rd Warnemünder Woche The German 3cc Championship also begins on Saturday, July 505rd. The first start is scheduled for 13 p.m. 45 crews registered, including the absolute veterans of the class, Wolfgang Hunger and Holger Jess. Hunger has 23 Kiel Week victories alone. In 2005, Hunger won the 505 World Championship off Warnemünde. But the Jan-Philipp Hoffmann/Felix Brockerhoff crew also has a good chance of sailing at the top. The two already won in 2018 Warnemünder Woche. A total of ten races are planned until the end of the German Championships on Tuesday, July 6th.
Mecklenburg spa regatta
15 boats of different sizes and classes have registered for the Mecklenburgische Bäderregatta, the medium-distance regatta of the 83rd edition. Warnemünder Woche, announced. Nine boats are taking part in the ORC classification, while six crews have registered in the Yardstick classification. The diverse field of boats between eight and 13 meters long will cross the starting line in front of Warnemünde at 10 a.m. In front of the sailors there are about ten nautical miles to the west, to the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn. From there the field leads back to Warnemünde, across the finish line in the Warnow estuary. Many crews use the Mecklenburg Baths Regatta as preparation for the long-distance regatta Rund Bornholm, which starts on Monday, July 5th at 12 p.m.
H-Boat ranking regatta
The H-boat class has entered the registration list with 17 boats Warnemünder Woche registered. Including the 2020 German champion, Thilo Beuster from Brandenburg. The 8,3 meter long keelboats are sailed with crews of three to four sailors. The first start is on Saturday, July 3rd at 13 p.m. Two races are planned for this day.
