Around Bornholm start on Monday: 280 nautical miles ahead!

For some, the most important thing at Rund Bornholm is the hunt for the best time, for others the long-distance regatta is a great adventure. But no matter what your personal requirements are, it remains an experience for all participants.

When the first start from Rund Bornholm crosses the starting line in front of Warnemünde on Monday, July 3rd from 12 p.m., the participants on the seagoing yachts will be 280 nautical miles ahead. A total of 38 yachts have registered for the long-distance regatta. Between storms and calms, smooth seas and high waves, anything is possible and requires good preparation from the crews. About halfway through the journey you have to make a decision and pass the Danish island of Bornholm either on the port or starboard side and then start the journey back to Warnemünde.

Around Bornholm is one of the most traditional offshore regattas in the Baltic Sea, and the field of participants is always diverse. From the more comfortable family or charter yacht to the Volvo Ocean Racer, everything is usually available. Sailing takes place according to ORC and Yardstick measurements. In addition to single-hand and double-hand ratings, there are separate rating groups for family and charter crews. In addition, the rating from Rund Bornholm together with the medium-distance regatta Mecklenburgische Bäderregatta for yachts in the ORC rating flows into the Warnemünder Woche Cup and for the boats in the Yardstick classification in the WIRO XXL Cup.

This year, Laura Kühlewind will once again be in charge of the race management. The starting signal for Rund Bornholm will be given by the President of the German Sailing Association, Mona Küppers.
