IDM sea sailing: Klinghardt is champion with “Patent 4”
Jürgen Klinghardt with the Italia 9.98 "Patent 4", previous runner-up in ORC III/IV, has won the International German Championship in offshore sailing. He clearly prevailed against eleven other yachts in the area off Warnemünde: In a total of seven races he achieved five first places, one second place in the middle distance and one unfinished race was discarded.
There was a close competition for second, third and fourth place over the four days of the championship, with positions changing daily. After two races sailed today, Knut Freudenberg with the "Halbtrocken", a First 36.7, was runner-up, one point ahead of Kai Haupthoff with the "Varuna X Press". Fourth place went to Uwe Kleinvogel (Rostock), who had been in second place yesterday.
