505 IDM final result: Hunger/Jess confidently German champions
What was already apparent on the first day of the International German Championship (IDM) for the 505cc became a certainty today, on the fourth and final day of competition for the class: Wolfgang Hunger and Holger Jess are the German champions in the 505cc.

Wolfgang Hunger and Holger Jess, the 505cc world champions from 2001, 2003 and 2005, showed a consistently good performance and did not finish any of the ten runs worse than third place. The only exception: They didn't take part in the last race today because overall victory was already assured. “We really enjoyed our days here in Warnemünde. The weather was very good and the race committee did an excellent job,” said Wolfgang Hunger. “We started with a new boat, so we are of course even more pleased with the result. Now we’re going home happy,” said Holger Jess. Jan-Philipp Hoffmann and Felix Brockerhoff (both Düsseldorf Yacht Club) came second. Brockerhoff: “Warnemünde is our absolute favorite area. We will definitely be back.” Lutz Stengel and Frank Feller from Rostock came third. A total of 44 teams took part in the IDM.
