Pulsating beats, party atmosphere and comedy in the Kurhaus garden
"Dance Energy: Friday Music powered by Stadtwerke Rostock" was the motto yesterday in the Kurhaus garden, and it lived up to its promise. Danceable beats from the DJ booth echoed throughout the grounds, three bands performed energetic music on stage, and comedian Roger G. had the crowd laughing. For movie fans, the first WIRO film of their choice was shown yesterday on the Mittelmole.

The Rostock duo "Lilly Brennt," featuring Susi Koch and Melle Mellsen, entertained the audience at the opening concert of the "Dance Energy: Friday Music powered by Stadtwerke Rostock" event with hits from soul, pop, R&B, blues, and rock. Also from the region was the second duo to perform yesterday in the Kurhaus garden: ESCO, featuring Eric Winter and Thomas Nabrich. A mix of rap, pop, and raw guitar riffs characterizes this quintessential Mecklenburg band.

Rostock's Roger G. offered a completely different kind of entertainment with a comedy performance. Gregor Kurtz, aka Roger G., described the typical Mecklenburger with humor and aptness, even eliciting chuckles from the Mecklenburgers in the audience, which the comedian interpreted as pure enthusiasm. The passages about birds of all kinds also generated plenty of laughs, with not only the Warnemünde gulls coming off badly, but also the sparrows. Given that the largest boat show in Düsseldorf is held far from the sea, he advocated for a mining fair in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern before reflecting on his own intelligence and signing off with a song about Vorpommern. The 42-year-old artist and comedian, who rose to fame through videos of everyday family life on Instagram, has proven that he is also the perfect entertainer on stage, even eliciting loud laughs from the Mecklenburgers at the end of his performance.
Between the concerts and after the comedy set, Rostock DJ Mas Massive played electrifying beats of the finest quality. Afterwards, the six-person cover band Stürmer Deluxe rocked the stage with German pop rock, bringing a party atmosphere to the Kurhaus garden.
