Much praise for volunteer work, a poster unveiling and a farewell.
At the reception hosted by the Hanseatic and university city as part of the 88th Warnemünder Woche Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger praised the dedication of the volunteer crew, without whom the long-standing event would not be possible. Looking to the future, she also focused on Rostock's Olympic bid. Furthermore, the official poster for the 89th Rostock Olympics was unveiled. Warnemünder Woche presented and at the same time bid farewell to long-time event photographer and poster designer Pepe Hartmann.

She recalled the long tradition of Warnemünder Woche, which first took place exactly 100 years ago, and to which a special exhibition is dedicated at the Warnemünde Local History Museum. Kröger also addressed the topic of the Olympic bid and emphasized once again what an excellent showcase the Warnemünder Woche and are the ideal sailing area for Warnemünde as a possible venue for Olympic and Paralympic sailing competitions.
The traditional unveiling of the poster already provided a first glimpse of the 89th Warnemünder Woche The event, which takes place from July 3rd to 11th, 2027, is once again being designed by Pepe Hartmann, a graphic designer and long-time event photographer. "I left out the waves this time because I wanted to make the poster a bit more modern and minimalist," Hartmann explains.
With this new poster, Pepe Hartmann bids farewell as he enters his well-deserved retirement. Since 1997, his designs have shaped the image of the company. Warnemünder WocheAs an event photographer, he documented sailing events during races for decades, thus carrying impressions from the regatta courses out into the world.
The mayor thanked Hartmann for the long time he had served the Warnemünder Woche with his expertise. “Designing and photographing the poster for 30 years was always a highlight for me. Every time a Warnemünder Woche “I am very sad that it is coming to an end, but at the same time I am already looking forward to the next one. I will certainly continue to be present in the future, because after so many years I cannot completely separate myself from Warnemünde and the people here,” says Hartmann.
