Schomaeker / Jess dominate the 505er - Hot, hotter, WARNEMUENDER WOCHE 2010: This year’s 73rd WARNEMUENDER WOCHE ended on the 11th of July with up to 40 degrees on Sunday. Over 700 000 spectators came to experience sailing, culture and summer festival for ten days. "This has been the best possible advertisement for our region. Calm before the final of the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE 2010 - The “Scho-ka-kola” of Dr Uwe Lebens from Hamburg crosses the finishing line first of the “Mecklenburgische Bäderregatta” as the fastest yacht; ; Korsar, Pirat and J24 tried their luck under weak wind conditions; 505er, FD, Finn and OK didn’t start at all. “Glashäger” crosses finishing line first - Christian Kellner/Michael Kluegel confidently won the battle around the German Championship of the Dyas class. The Melges 24 started sailing at constant wind conditions around 12 knots. Furthermore, Warnemuende welcomed back the first homecomers of the long-distance regatta “Rund Bornholm“: On late Tuesday evening, the “Glashäger” came back to the port of destination. German double victory in the Laser Europa Cup - The European Laser community finished its appearance offshore Warnemuende with some really strong wind. After a three day enduring calm Malte Kamrath from Germany finally won the Laser Europa Cup. Martje Uecker from Kiel could secure her first place in the women’s ranking of the Olympic Laser radial class. Christin Kellner is still leading the field in the International German Championships (IDM). Rund Bornholm started with favourable wind conditions - Conveniently the wind freshened up at the start of the long-distance regatta “Rund Bornholm” at noon on Monday and spurred on the 46 participants on their course heading towards the Danish vacation island. The Olympic boat class 470er, the 420er as well as the H-Boot and BIC Techno finished their appearance at this year’s WARNEMUENDER WOCHE. Sailors sailed gloriously after halting start - Warnemuende presented itself as a large fan mile at the start of the WARNEMUENDER WOCHE: 200 000 spectators came to celebrate World Cup goals, Beachhandballers and first sailing champions.
